Watch Riruta's Boys Sing!
The Riruta Shade Home was established in 1986 but was not formally registered
until 1989. The project was launched to curb and control the course of child destitution, as well as to facilitate the integral
development and growth of these orphaned children. Riruta Shade functions as a rescue center for street, orphaned, abandoned,
deprived, and vulnerable children. We provide essential needs such as food, clothing, shelter, health care, education, and
rehabilitation to the children. Currently, we care and provide education for approximately forty young boys and girls. Formally
a local community self-help project, unfortunately we have no permanent financial or material support. A Board of Governors,
elected every three years, manages our home. We depend on donations from locals, well wishers, and people of good will. We
welcome any support, whether it come from Africa, Europe, or North America or a child, a family, or a friend.
